Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair.
Strip waxing is accomplished by spreading a wax combination thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on the top and ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair.
Hot waxing utilizes Hot wax (as opposed to strip wax). In this case, the wax is applied somewhat thickly and with no cloth or paper strips. The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal by a therapist without the aid of cloths. This waxing method is very beneficial to people who have sensitive skin.

Question & Answer
1. How long does the hair need to be?
The hair needs to be between 1/4 to a 1/2 an inch in length. The best way to gauge the length is to trim the hair, using a comb as your guide, prior to your waxing appointment. On average give yourself between 7 to 9 days after your last shave to be sure the hair is long enough.
2.How often do I need to get waxed?
For facial waxing services, you should be getting waxed every 2 to 3 weeks. For all other body waxing services, you should be coming in every 3 to 4 weeks.
3. Can I get a brazilian wax when I am on my period?
Yes you can, however, keep in mind you are more sensitive prior to your period, so try to avoid coming in right before your cycle begins.
4. How can I prepare for my waxing appointment?
Try to avoid using any body lotions, make-up, or oils prior to your hair removal service because it can interfere with the effectiveness of the wax. Exfoliate every other day before and after being waxed. Also, be sure to avoid sun exposure 12 hours before and after any hair removal service.
